A Sustainability Trend Setter
The PHAMBOOK Story
My name is Michael Olorunfemi John, I studied Transport Management Technology at the Federal University of Technology, Akure. I’m an alumnus of Uturn Africa conference 2014 and also a 2017 delegate, centered on sustainable development of Africa. Having been a reputable student leader in my campus, I was chosen to attend the 2014 edition event as one of the delegates from the FUTA. In the course of this edition, delegates were challenged to strategize goals and plans that will bring about sustainability and development of Africa in the nearest future. I was highly motivated and got a cue of transforming how we do business in the agricultural sector of Nigeria to bring about development of agriculture in the rural area. I penned down my thoughts and kicked off by researching and thoroughly surveying my environment for clues that could help in making a difference. In 2015 during my student industrial work experience scheme, I came up with ‘PHAMBOOK' an ICT driven agribusiness that provides local farmers with the support to increase productivity through a mutual benefit model that allow average income earner mostly from the urban area to virtually invest in local farmers through PHAMBOOK platform for return on investment. It has been an awesome journey since then.
